THINGS TO DO on Magnetic Island

It is not surprising to find an abundance of outdoor activities, especially on the water, when you’re in a naturally beautiful place with such good weather. These range from the exhilarating jet ski tour around the Island, to the absolutely relaxing sailing or stretching out in a quiet bay.


There is also a choice of sailing, sea kayaking and cruising trips. Each one is different, but all offer a relaxing day out on the water, and a variety of activities such as marine life encounters, swimming, snorkeling over coral reefs, fishing or just lazing in the sun.


Almost every kind of watersport activity is available or for hire. Learn to scuba dive or experience a resort dive. Take a guided snorkeling or scuba diving tour. Diving and snorkeling gear is also available for sale and for hire.


For fishing enthusiasts, there are a wide range of possibilities, with a multitude of great shore-based spots around the Island, plus a variety of offshore fishing trips on offer. An amazing range of fishing gear is available on the Island, both for sale and hire.


Visit the wildlife park and hold a koala, crocodile or python, take a bushwalking tour, or explore the many Magnetic Island hiking tracks.


For all golfing enthusiasts, a round at the Country Club in Picnic Bay is a must. It is said to be where Greg Norman first played golf. You’ll be made very welcome at all the Island’s club including the Bowls Club and RSL.
