There are many ways of getting around the 20+ kilometres of scenic roads.

Hire a car, scooter or electric bike and discover Magnetic Island in your own time. NB: Check for road conditions on the West Point Road, especially during wet season December to April. Scooters and some car hires are not allowed past the Golf Club in Picnic Bay to Cockle Bay or to West Point.

Scooters are a great, fun option and all you need is a car license. Trail bikes are a more adventurous option for those with a motorcycle license who also enjoy exploring the Island’s more remote beauty spots. Beam eScooters (electric) are also available from Nelly Bay to Alma Bay and electric bikes are available in Nelly Bay.
The local Magnetic Island bus and service meets every ferry and their very convenient, Island-wide timetable makes this an affordable alternative. Ticket options include one way trips, as well as all day and multi-day passes. Please note that the buses are CASH ONLY payment.
Guided tours on Magnetic Island are available by tour buses and the Magnetic Maxi Service complete with a commentary.
A taxi/maxi or bus is the best way to get “home” after enjoying a few drinks and a great night out at one of the Island’s many venues.
